Wire Economics and Maintenance Costs

Leave a message

In terms of material costs, the price of flexible wire of the same specifications is typically 10% to 15% higher than that of rigid wire, due to its more complex manufacturing process and greater copper material wastage. Taking a complete home rewiring project for a 100-square-meter residence as an example, using BVR flexible wire could increase the budget by 300 to 500 yuan. However, from a long-term perspective, flexible wire offers greater convenience for replacement and maintenance-if a section becomes damaged, only that specific segment needs to be replaced, whereas rigid wire often requires the entire length of the cable to be pulled out and replaced.

It is worth noting that inferior products-specifically "recycled copper flexible wires"-are present on the market, and their electrical resistivity may exceed standard limits by more than 50%. It is highly recommended to prioritize reputable brands that hold "CCC" certification-such as Pearl River Cable and Far East Cable. Although these products carry a higher unit price, they boast a service life of over 20 years.
